PIRATES USE HOSTAGE SHIP FOR REFUELLING MISSION

Somali pirates have commandeered the sea-jacked vehicle carrier VC Asian Glory from the holding area off Hobyo towards the Seychelles in order to refuel one of the pirate mother-ships, which has run out of fuel.

Reports by Bulgarian media report that the pirates would use the Asian Glory itself as platform to capture other ships could so far not yet be confirmed.

The Bulgarian representative of the UK ship operator company Zodiac, which manages the Asian Glory ship, said he had no information of the Somali pirates using the vessel for their raids.
