U.S. Warship Rescues 3 Thrown Overboard by Pirates

A U.S.-American warship working on anti-piracy off Somalia rescued three Yemeni fishermen after pirates took their boats and threw them into the sea.

The fishermen, ages 18-36, were found 36 nautical miles off Shabwa in southern Yemen. They had been fighting the waves for hours in the Gulf of Aden.

The U.S. ship handed over the Yemenis to the Yemeni authorities.

The south-based Yemeni Coastguard said they were alerted about a boat that went missing with four crew members onboard.
