US Ambassador to Kenya calls for Urgent Deployment of AU Troops to Somalia

US Ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger is calling for an urgent deployment of AU troops to Somalia to save the fragile Transitional Federal Government from being overthrown by Islamic insurgents.

Ranneberger said time was running out and African countries should act now to ensure stability returns to the war torn country. Speaking in Mombasa after opening a military training centre Ranneberger said the US government fully support President Ahmed Shariff's TFG government.
