Black History Month. Spike Lee to Speak at Concordia University, in Montreal

To celebrate Black History Month 2009, several events will be taking place at Concordia University, in Montreal : 

Monday, February 9th, 2009: Informal Discussion on "Black Sexuality"

The African Students' Association of Concordia University (ASAC), The Concordia Caribbean Student Union (CCSU) and the Ralliement Etudiant Haiti-Canada (REH-C) will be hosting an informal discussion on "Black Sexuality". This discussion will be monitored by executives of the associations and will focus on myths and concerns of "Black Sexuality".

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009: "Black Jeopardy" Trivia Night

The African Students' Association of Concordia University (ASAC), The Concordia Caribbean Student Union (CCSU) and the Ralliement Etudiant Haiti-Canada (REH-C) will be hosting a Jeopardy themed game night to educate students about Black History. 3 teams will be formed and the person with the most points will win VIP seats to the Spike Lee Speakers Series.

(on Black Canadian History, current events such as Obama)

Time: 4:30 pm (Do the Right Thing) ; 6:00 pm (School Days) ; 8:00 pm (Malcom X)

Thursday, February 19th, 2009: African Music Night
(African influenced artists will kick off Thirsty Thursdays with guest singers, music players etc...)

Time: 5:00 pm

Thursday, February 19th, 2009: Closing Party: Brown Sugar
Location: The Saints
Time: 10:00 pm.
